Learning objectives

Introducing students to the mechanisms of various corrosion types of engineering materials in real conditions of application. Learning corrosion testing techniques and applying different methods of corrosion protection of materials.

Learning outcomes

The student can explain the occurrence and cause of corrosion as well as ways to slowing corrosion process by applying different methods of protection and their impact on the environment. Understands the factors that influence the choice of materials from the aspect of corrosion protection.

6. Cathodic protection;

8. Protection of metals by treatment of corrosive environments;

11. New trends in surface protection of metals;
12. Corrosion and environmental protection.

Evaluation and grading

Written and final exam, oral presentation of seminar paper.
