Akumulacija plastičnog otpada predstavlja globalnu ekološku krizu, izazivanu rastućom potražnjom za nerazgradivom plastikom. Tradicionalni metodi odlaganja otpada, deponije i spaljivanje, imaju ograničenu primenu i nisu efikasni u rešavanju problema plastičnog otpada. Projekat se bavi pripremom membrane na bazi grafena u komibinaciji sa magnetnim nanočesticama koje bi mogle da otvaraju i zatvaraju pore membrane u magnetnom polju. rocesi tretmana otpadnih voda moraju biti procijenjeni da bi se utvrdilo koji su ekonomski i ekološki najbolji, odnosno njihov izbor i sprovođenje mora biti adekvatan.
